The Beauty and Irony of the Rose

Writer: Gwendolyn J. JonesGwendolyn J. Jones

It blooms, even when it’s detached.

It’s beautifully layered. Each layer is unique, some remain and some fall away as the rose matures.

It’s centered. It’s core is covered and protected, it’s safe.

It’s exposed. As it blooms, the outer leaves become individualized, vulnerable even, yet they maintain their beauty and strength.

It’s support system is strong! The stem, although thin, and seemingly useless is imperative for sustenance.

The 🌹 is perfectly imperfect. The rose is ME!
